HOW TO: BUILD A STUDY SPACE
rid all distractions
- make sure your study area is away from the tv, the phone, your family/friends
- if you are using your laptop, use a browser extension to block certain websites + +
- turn your phone off !!
clear the space
- declutter the study area so you can have maximum movement
- it’ll also make you feel more comfortable and less cramped !
light
- try choose a spot with good natural light !!!
- natural light will give the area some warmth
- if not? buy a lamp/use one from home that provides you with good lighting, it is better than nothing
spice it up
- try and also make it your own
- buy some plants??
- put some pictures of you and your friends, your dog etc.
- put motivational posters + quotes up!
- this will make you feel more comfortable and relaxed whilst studying !!
have a comfy chair
- ok to me this is so important
- nothing is worse than studying for long periods of time and then your butt begins to ache!!!
- pls try and get a comfy chair
- if not? put a pillow under your butt, so much better !
use ambient noise
- for some people music works really well, and that is so good !!
- for others, it doesn’t!
- i suggest listening to rain, to coffee chatter, or some classical music, or even a soundtrack from your favourite movie or tv show
have all the stuff you need before you start
- make sure you don’t have to keep leaving every 5 mins to get something
- plan what you’re going to do, get everything you need, and then head in
now actually study
- make sure you have also created a space that is practical and promotes productivity
- then use it!
- tailor it to your needs
